DES:djk 1//06/90 (047/28) o RIG I N A L L2/10/90 RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 11459 RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE CITY/COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS AS THE PUBLIC AGENCY TO DEVELOP, ADOPT, AND UPDATE A CONGESTION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM WHEREAS, Government Code Section 65088 et seq. requires that a Congestion Management Program be developed, adopted, and annually updated for every county; and WHEREAS, the program shall be developed by a public agency as designated by the County Board of Supervisors and the City Councils of a majority of the cities representing a majority of the population in the incorporated area of the County; and WHEREAS, the City/Council Association of Governments is being established as a joint powers entity for the purpose of developing state mandated plans such as the Congestion Management Program; and WHEREAS, it is the intention of this Council to designate the City/County Association of Governments as the public agency to develop the Congestion Management Program for the County of San Mateo; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1. This Council does hereby designate the City/County Association of Governments, a public agency, to develop, adopt and annually update the Congestion Management Program for the County of San Mateo. 2. This resolution shall be effective upon adoption; provided, that the provisions hereof shall be operative from and after the date of the establishment of the City/County Association of Governments pursuant to joint exercise of powers agreement entered into under Government Code Section 6500 et seq. * * * ,--
