Driveway spacing varies, with driveways spaced as closely as
30 feet from driveway centerline -to -centerline, leaving a length of 15 feet where pedestrians are not
in conflict with turning vehicles. Some block faces along El Camino Real have very few or no
driveways where frontages have been recently redeveloped. Driveways vary in width between 20
and 40 feet. Optimum driveway spacing and widths can reduce the potential for conflicts between
vehicles and non -motorized modes by reducing confusion for drivers and limiting opportunities
where drivers and non -motorized modes spatially overlap. Further study in later documents will
investigate opportunities that reduce the number and width of driveways along the corridor.
43
