Pub-
licity for Redwood City.s Port was another factor pointed out by
Dr. Fronun.

City Manager Dinunitt stated that $1,000.00 had been set
aside in the budget for dredging the Harbor, provided that it was
possible to secure the small dredge owned by the City of Palo Alto
to do the dredging.

'-

Mr. Hagan moved that the Recreation Commission act in
accordance with Dr. Fronun's suggestion that we back the first meet-
ing of such an organization. The motion was seconded by Mr. Spinas,

. .' -
and carrl.ed unanl.mously.- -

A-meeting was to be called and notices were to be sent to
all present owners of boats to determine just how many of them would
be interested in forming such an organization, the- date of the meet-
ing to be decided between Dr. August Fromm and Chairman Wayne Mill-
ington, and the cards to. be sent out by the City of Redwood City,
as the City has a record of the boat owners.

The question of whether or not the Redwood City Recrea-
tion Commission should become a member of the National Recreation
Association was discussed. It was decided that if the dues were
not prohibitive that it would be a very good investment. The ~
ountof the dues was to be determined and presented at the next'
meeting.

Chairman Millington directed the Secretary to write a
let ter to W. P. -A. Director H. V. De', Armond and ask him to make up
a schedule of the W.P.A. playground workers and maintenance men,
in duplicate--one copy for the Commission and the other copy for
Mr. Morton.

Mr. Morton reported that Mr. Carl Crosson of the Macco
Robertson Construction Co. had presented to the Redwood City Rec-
reation Department some lumber and 400 yeards of dirt towards the
construction of the rifle range, through the efforts of Mrs. MC-
Atee. A letter of appreciation was written to Mr. Crosson, signed
by all the members.

-,

The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m., at which time a
delicious cake, which was conspicuous by its absence at the bar--
becue, was served by Mrs. MCAtee, which was enjoyed by all.

--

Mi 1 dr ed J.
