<br />...5"./ <br /> <br />-/ <br /> <br />RIZPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the CitMana .er <br /> <br />August 22, 2005 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Approval of a Construction Improvements Agreement for 585 Whipple Avenue <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Approve the plans and authorize execution of a construction improvement agreement <br />with Oyster and Oyster Investments, owners of record of said real property located at <br />585 Whipple Avenue, Redwood City, California ("Owners"). <br /> <br />Background <br />On September 15, 2004, the Planning Director approved both the Use and Architectural <br />Permits for Oyster and Oyster Investments, to construct a new service station with eight <br />fuel stations, a 2,200 square foot market, and a car wash, at 585 Whipple Avenue. The <br />new building is located at the intersection of Whipple Avenue and Winslow Street. The <br />Permits' conditions require the developer to construct certain public street <br />improvements to provide services to the new station, and to protect the general welfare <br />of the public. <br /> <br />The improvements consist of replacing the curb, gutter,qnd sidewalk across the <br />frontage of the property, water and sewer services to the pr6perty, fire hydrants, street <br />trees, and miscellaneous related improvements. Engineering & Construction has <br />approved the plans for the improvements submitted by the developer, Oyster and <br />Oyster Investments and their civil engineering consultant firm, Gettler-Ryan, Inc. <br /> <br />According to Section 29.95, Article VII, Chapter 29 of the City Code, a Construction <br />Improvement Agreement with City is required.
