Ensure that El Camino Real remains a viable and competitive <br />economic area. <br />• Drive sales to businesses and increase City tax revenue. <br />StRAtEGIES <br />2N Working with local businesses, consider the estab- <br />lishment of a special assessment district for the El <br />Camino Real Corridor. Such a district would raise <br />revenue from participating businesses to cover <br />the cost of local marketing, provision of additional <br />parking, sidewalk beautification, and other im- <br />provement measures. <br />2O Raise awareness of El Camino Real businesses <br />through events and partnerships with the Redwood <br />City Chamber of Commerce, the San Mateo County <br />Economic Development Association (SAMCEDA), <br />Partnership Redwood City, and other organizations. <br />2P Improve signage and wayfinding along the Corridor <br />to help people locate the Transit Center, other tran- <br />sit facilities, loading zones, and parking locations. <br />Ensure that signage at transit facilities lists all transit <br />providers. <br /> <br />See additional <br />strategies in Chapter <br />4, Placemaking, for <br />guidance on aesthetics <br />and branding.
