ATTY/RESO.0112/CC RESO ADOPTING 2018 SOLID WASTE RATES REV: 12-18-17 MI Page 1 of 5 RESOLUTION NO._____ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ESTABLISHING 2018 SOLID WASTE COLLECTION RATES WHEREAS, pursuant to an agreement with the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBWMA), a rate analysis has been conducted regarding solid waste collection rates in the City of Redwood City; and WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the SBWMA, of which this City is a member agency, revisions to the rates of charge for said purposes have been proposed; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 14.31 of the Municipal Code of the City of Redwood City, schedules of charges for such purposes shall be established by resolution of this Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council’s action is not a project pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(4) because the City is setting maximum rates for solid waste collection to be charged to fund on-going solid waste collection services by Recology San Mateo County, and as such, the action involves a funding mechanism or fiscal activity within the meaning of the CEQA Guidelines; and WHEREAS, notices were sent as required by Government Code Section 53755, a hearing was held in accordance with the requirements of Article XIII D, Section 6 of the California Constitution (Proposition 218), no majority protest exists, and the proposed rate increase complies with the limitations for use in Article XIII D, Section 6(b). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: 1. The schedule of charges for solid waste collection services in the City of Redwood City is hereby established as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein. 2.
