Easter Bowl as Picnic Area. Mr. Balzarini showed the <br />Commission a layout of the Easter Bowl grounds and What was being <br />planned. , <br /> <br />1. ~icnic Tables with barbecues for every second or <br />third table. <br /> <br />2. Possibility of an outdoor dance floor. <br />3. Leveling and clearing part of area for parking lot. <br /> <br />4. It was suggested to obtain estimates on the price <br />of making Easter Bowl a picnic area and present <br />them at the next meeting of the ~ark and <br />Recreation Commission before sending them on to <br />the council. <br /> <br />5. Nothing, as yet, as been plannéd regarding lights, <br />but Mr. Balzarini stated that there are lines <br />connected in that area because of the cross and it <br />would not be complicated to have lights if needed. <br /> <br />6. A meter t~e l1~t was suggested. This would <br />definitely be something to work on after the basic <br />requirements for making laster Bowl a picnic area, <br />are finished. <br /> <br />COMMUNI CATIONS: <br /> <br />Planning Commission: <br /> <br />A letter of January 10,1951, to Jack Poole fr~ Lar~y <br />Wise, Advisor of the Redwood City PIMnlng C~18s1on, was <br />read: "The Planning Commission of Redwood City will stipulate <br />in all future subdivisions that street trees must be approved <br />by the Redwood City Park ~uperintendent.u <br /> <br />A letter fram Red Morton to the Commission regarding <br />his absence was read by Ralph Case. <br /> <br />Letters from Benn Capp, Ralph Shaw regarding the salaries <br />of the pool staff at Palo Alto and San Mateo were read. <br /> <br />Ralph ~aw sent a letter to the Co~1ss1on rec~end1ng <br />Bob ~dersen as Pool MMager for the Redwood City Swl~lng Pool. <br />It WaB decided to give these letters to Wi111m HMley, Chaimm <br />of the ~l~lng Pool C~1ttee, md the c~lttee me~ers would <br />talk it over. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS: <br /> <br />1. ~ucalyptus trees aloog ~e property line at Hawes ¡ark. <br />Pasco Balzarini reported the coat to be the <br />following: <br /> <br />$240.00 to top ~e trees md leave ~em in the gro~d. <br />390.00 to take everything away. <br />
