01/08/2018 RESOLUTION NO. 15639 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 521 TO AMEND THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE PARTIES AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING INTEGRATING THE TENTATIVE AGREEMENT LANGUAGE WHEREAS, the City and Service Employees International Union Local 521 (SEIU) met and conferred on changes to the City's classification and salary plan to establish the new classifications of Water Resources Technician, Lead Water Resources Technician, and Water Quality Specialist and remove the classifications of Customer Support Services Specialist, Recycled Water Specialist, and Water Conservation Specialist; and WHEREAS, in order to incorporate the terms and conditions of employment and compensation for newly established positions, the Memorandum of Understanding between the City and SEIU must be amended; and WHEREAS, the City and SEIU have reached tentative agreement on the amendments to the Memorandum of Understanding, as described in Exhibit A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The tentative agreement on the amendments to the Memorandum of Understanding Between the City and Service Employees International Union Local 521, as described in Exhibit A, is approved. 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute a First Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding Between the City and Service Employees International Union Local 521 for the period of February 1, 2017 — January 31, 2019, which is attached as Exhibit B. 3.
