EXHIBIT B <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />LEAD WATER RESOURCES TECHNICIAPA <br />DEFINITION <br />This position performs customer support services necessary to deliver water to residential and <br />commercial customers; read and record readings of water meters; assist in public outreach, site <br />inspections, backflow prevention testing, meter maintenance and in meter repair as required; <br />assist with clerical and other procedures, including, billing, granting water credits, customer <br />notification, rebate processing, and turning water service on and off as required. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />This is the advanced journey level classification in the Water Resources series, and <br />distinguished from the Water Resources Technician by the assignment of more complex and <br />responsible duties. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as <br />new or unusual situations arise and they are fully aware of the operating procedures and <br />policies within the work unit. Positions in this classification may also act as team leaders in the <br />day-to-day operations of the Water Resources Section. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXCERCISED <br />Receives immediate supervision from the Utilities Field Supervisor. May receive technical and <br />functional supervision from a Water Resources Specialist. <br />Provides technical guidance and may coordinate the work of Water Resources Technicians and <br />Consumer Service Technicians as assigned. <br />EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES <br />Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: <br />Coordinate, train and review the work of Water Resources Technicians and Consumer <br />Service Technicians in the performance of meter reading, meter repair and replacement <br />duties, and provide input to management to assist in employee evaluations. <br />2. Plan, schedule and coordinate large meter testing program. Field test meters, adjust <br />meters to an accredited standard of accuracy and demonstrate accuracy tests to <br />customers. <br />3. Plan and schedule meter repairs, upgrades and new installation. <br />4. Assist in developing goals, objectives and priorities, determine priority level of special <br />projects or unusual circumstances making recommendations to management and <br />redirecting staff as appropriate. <br />AM/RESO.0114/CC RESO SEW MOU AMENDMENT EXHIBIT A <br />REV: 12-29-17 MI Page 7 of 19 <br />
