<br />EXHIBIT A <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER <br />FISCAL YEAR 1998/99 <br /> <br />CONTRACT OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Provide a quality preschool experience to at least 40 four year-old children which will lay a <br />foundation for them to be successful in school and the community. <br /> <br />Provide support services to the families of the children enrolled which will enhance their <br />mainstreaming into the Redwood City community and provide a crucial link between school and <br />home by: <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />A. Requiring parent participation in the classroom with a 3 hour minimum per month <br />B. Referring clients to Social Services and other professionals as needed. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />C. Provide a forum for community meetings, including monthly parent society meetings, <br />parent education seminars, safety and violence intervention workshops with the <br />police and fire departments, along with first aid/CPR training <br /> <br />Provide opportunities for staff development which will keep the staff current with trends in Early <br />Childhood Education by conducting or funding 3 workshops/conferences per year where <br />attendance will be required by all staff members. <br />
