<br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER <br />FISCAL YEAR 1999/00 <br /> <br />CONTRACT OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />To provide a partially subsidize a quality preschool experience to at least 50 four year-old <br />children, 35 of which will be Redwood City residents, that will prepare them for kindergarten and <br />lay a foundation for them to be successful in school and in their community. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Provide at least 12 parent community meetings, workshops and parent society and support <br />meetings, including but not limited to the following topics: <br /> <br />Child Development (2-4 per year) <br />Discipline (2 per year) <br />Safety/violence Prevention/Fingerprinting <br />Lead Poisoning Prevention <br />Budgeting <br />CPR and First Aid <br />Health and Nutrition <br />Family Activities <br />Child Abuse <br />Appropriate toys and materials for children <br /> <br />70% (193) will be Redwood City residents. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Six staff members will attend three staff development workshops, including tuition and book <br />reimbursement during the funding year. <br />
