6.1.A. - Page 25 Attachment A — Scope of Services 1) Background: The City of Redwood City, California ("City") is soliciting Proposals from qualified commercial carpet installers ("Contractor") to replace carpet and cove base for the Downtown Main Library Facility located at (1044 Middlefield Road Redwood City, CA 94063). The successful contractor will furnish, install and provide all Interface manufactured carpet squares and ancillary materials needed to provide a complete project. The Downtown Main Library Facility has slightly different requirements within the complex, therefore, the successful contractor will work closely with Redwood City staff during the entire project. All areas within the Main Library Facility shall be returned to their original condition, including removal of all debris, cleaning within all work areas, furniture placement, (computers, desks, chairs, equipment, supplies, etc.) prior to the end of the contractors work shift. 2) Site Description Carpet Replacement will take place within the Downtown Main Library Facility in the: i) First Floor— Reading Room & Stack Areas ii) First Floor —Children's Areas iii) Second Floor— Project Read iv) Second Floor —Admin. Areas 3) Preferred Installation Dates and Hours The normal hours of operation forthe Downtown Main Library Facility are generally Monday - Thursday, 10am to Spm; Friday and Saturday, 10am to 5pm; and Sunday, 12pm to Spm. Work will occur during these normal hours of operation. All areas within the construction site must be clean and free of debris and of any obstructions, as not to interfere with the designated hours of operation. Contractor should be flexible in terms of installation date and time, in order to cause the least disruption to the library. 4) Site Walk -Through A site walk-through is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Sam. Please meet in front of the Downtown Main Library located at (1044 Middlefield Road Redwood City, CA 94063). At Sam, Redwood City staff will collect the names and contact information for all contractors present and start the site -walk through. 5) Installation Details a) Work Schedule i) The successful Contractor will submit a work schedule to the Project Manager at least one week prior to the planned work start date. ii) Once the work schedule is agreed upon, any proposed changes will be immediately coordinated with the Project Manager, but not less than 24 hours in advance of the performance of work for any particular work space.
