6.1.A. - Page 25 <br />Attachment A — Scope of Services <br />1) Background: <br />The City of Redwood City, California ("City") is soliciting Proposals from qualified commercial <br />carpet installers ("Contractor") to replace carpet and cove base for the Downtown Main <br />Library Facility located at (1044 Middlefield Road Redwood City, CA 94063). The successful <br />contractor will furnish, install and provide all Interface manufactured carpet squares and <br />ancillary materials needed to provide a complete project. The Downtown Main Library Facility <br />has slightly different requirements within the complex, therefore, the successful contractor <br />will work closely with Redwood City staff during the entire project. All areas within the Main <br />Library Facility shall be returned to their original condition, including removal of all debris, <br />cleaning within all work areas, furniture placement, (computers, desks, chairs, equipment, <br />supplies, etc.) prior to the end of the contractors work shift. <br />2) Site Description <br />Carpet Replacement will take place within the Downtown Main Library Facility in the: <br />i) First Floor— Reading Room & Stack Areas <br />ii) First Floor —Children's Areas <br />iii) Second Floor— Project Read <br />iv) Second Floor —Admin. Areas <br />3) Preferred Installation Dates and Hours <br />The normal hours of operation forthe Downtown Main Library Facility are generally Monday - <br />Thursday, 10am to Spm; Friday and Saturday, 10am to 5pm; and Sunday, 12pm to Spm. Work <br />will occur during these normal hours of operation. All areas within the construction site must <br />be clean and free of debris and of any obstructions, as not to interfere with the designated <br />hours of operation. Contractor should be flexible in terms of installation date and time, in <br />order to cause the least disruption to the library. <br />4) Site Walk -Through <br />A site walk-through is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Sam. Please meet in front <br />of the Downtown Main Library located at (1044 Middlefield Road Redwood City, CA 94063). <br />At Sam, Redwood City staff will collect the names and contact information for all contractors <br />present and start the site -walk through. <br />5) Installation Details <br />a) Work Schedule <br />i) The successful Contractor will submit a work schedule to the Project Manager at least <br />one week prior to the planned work start date. <br />ii) Once the work schedule is agreed upon, any proposed changes will be immediately <br />coordinated with the Project Manager, but not less than 24 hours in advance of the <br />performance of work for any particular work space.
