RESOLUTION NO. 2016-34 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOS ALTOS <br />ENDORSING THE CARBON FEE AND DIVIDEND LEGISLATION <br />PROPOSED BY THE CITIZENS' CLIMATE LOBBY <br />WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of protecting the environment and <br />reducing greenhouse gas emissions; and <br />WHEREAS, on December 10, 2013, the City Council adopted the Los Altos Climate <br />Action Plan which set measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need to reduce carbon emissions. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Los <br />Altos hereby endorses the Carbon Pee and Dividend legislation proposed by the Citizens' <br />Climate lobby and encourages members of Congress to support Carbon Fee and Dividend <br />as a key element in reducing the risks of climate change. <br />I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a Resolution passed <br />and adopted by the City Council of the City of Los Altos at a meeting thereof on the 25`s da}' <br />of October, 2016 by the following rote: <br />AYES: BRUINS, MORDO, PEPPER, PROCHNOW, SAT FERLEE <br />NOES: NONE <br />ABSENT: NONE <br />ABSTAIN: NONE <br />tannic Bruins, MAYOR <br />A ttest: <br />ongn.C!M PFY CLERK <br />Resotution No, 2016-34 Page 1 <br />
