The <br />offer of resignation was rejected. The secretary was instructed <br />to write ~ss Stiles a letter informi~ her ~e co~ssion is <br />looking forward to her rapid recovery and retUrn to the commission. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Mr. Morton recommended that the pistol range be turned over <br />to the police department, and that the archery range be retained <br />at Hawes Park, but in a different position to eliminate hazards. <br />Following a suggestion by the city manager that such action be <br />taken, the commission voted to turn over the pistol range to <br />Chief .C. L. Collins, of the police department, and that Mr. MOrton <br />alter the position of the archery range as he thought best. The <br />secre tary was instructed to notify the police department of <br />the action. <br /> <br />Mr. Morton expressed the belief that the recreation center <br />site should not be developed as it might be sold at any time as <br />industrial property. Extensive discussion followed. <br /> <br />MSC that a committee be appointed to meet with the Recreation <br />Fund Committee to discuss the matter.
