The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bogie. <br />Absent, Commissioners Eva and Vanderborden. <br /> <br />" I <br /> <br /> <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of May 27th were <br />read and approved. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: None <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS:' None <br /> <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCES: <br /> <br />Maury Schwarz appeared and submitted plans for promoting <br />amateur boxing. He stated that he holds a state licence and <br />is merely interested in amateur boxing. Each boxer must be <br />passed upon by a doctor, be a member of the Amateur Athletic <br />Association and if is under 21 years of age must have the <br />signature of a parent. This would be another di version .for <br />the youth ~d would e~cate the public into an interest for <br />boxing. <br /> <br />MSC that the Recreation Commission rec~mmend to the City <br />Council that Mr. Schwarz be allowed a permit to sponsor <br />amateur boxing in Redwood City. ' <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />- <br />.. <br /> <br />'" <br /> <br />Louise Stiles was elected to the office of Secretary, <br />serving the unexpired term of Helen Ada Smith. <br /> <br />City Manager Dimmitt reported that he hoped to appoint <br />new members to the Commission to complete the membership <br />of nine. <br /> <br />Chairman Bogie asked that the report on the California <br />Enabling Act be ta'bled until next meeting of the Commission. <br /> <br />Adjournment. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />, . <br /> <br />.....1 ~ " <br />'. ....
