<br /> <br />the Hobby Show, to the Redwood City Recreation Fund. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MSC that this check be accepted and the instructions <br />of~the Hobby Club ,be ,followed and a letter of thanks <br />'be written the club. . <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Mr. Eva was chairman for the progrRm which was 'Parkd' <br />and he reported that there are two distinct uses for <br />parks: 1.. landscaped' territory for beautification only <br />and should be small and numerous and 2. park ~rea <br />which is for beautification and recreation or the re- <br />laxing type and should be larger and less numerous. <br /> <br /> <br />In the urban district there should be .10 sq. ft. <br />per capita of park area and in the surburban, up to <br />100 sq. ft. per capita. . <br /> <br />- <br /> <br /> <br />Supt. of Parks Roger Walsh, gave each commissioner <br />a map of Redwood City and. surrounding terriDory, show~ <br />ing~park areas marked in red. <br /> <br />Mr. Walsh made a report showing that we have a <br />total of 57.17 acres in park or play areas. <br /> <br />Adjournment. <br /> <br />¿, <br />LouIse ~es; ~eretary " <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />Special Meeting - December 9,1941 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to discuss the future <br />recreational plans of Redwood City. <br /> <br />Mayor Anderson explained that the council had <br />given 12 acres of the Recreation Center site at the end <br />of Broadway, to the new industry,. National Motor Bearing, <br />Co.,~wh!chhh,dhpûrchased another6 acres of it and the <br />remainder of the 22-acre area will go for street extensions. <br /> <br /> <br />Following considerable discussion during which it <br />was pointed out that it appeared unfeasible to consider <br />buying another site at the present time because of the <br />war emergency it was MSC that Chairman Bogie appoint a <br />committee to investigate the possibility of leasing <br />. property in the north part of Redwood City or .other <br />property for use in recreation. <br /> <br />Adjournment. <br /> <br /> <br />Secretary <br /> <br />
