' <br /> <br />" f1, <br />, <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />Regular Meeting September 29, 194? <br /> <br /> <br />The meeting wes called to order by Chairman Bogie. <br />Present were: Commissioners Bogie, Oneto, Case, Spin as , j <br />Alberson, Stiles, and Mrs Kenneth Bowen was introduced <br />as a new member representing the Women's Club. <br /> <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of June 23,1942 <br />were read and. approved. <br /> <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCES: None. <br /> <br />'" <br /> <br />COMMUNICAT'IONS: <br /> <br />From Commissioner Eva asking that, due to his war <br />activities, his resignation from the Commission be <br />accepted. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br /> <br />- Chairman Bogie reported that the Elementary <br />Board did not want to dispose of the old manual arts <br />building therefore the matter.is dropped. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />Director ...Morton reporta:.:,the following: that <br />Miss Gladys wycoff did an excellent job with the craft <br />room during the summer but was not to be there any <br />. longer andCarol Steinstre., a high school girl would <br />replace her~ith the craft room being open Mon, fue., <br />Thur., and ~'ri. from 2:45 to 4:45. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />That his duties since his release from Civilian <br />Defense have been of the maintance nature - cleaning <br />play areas, àauling tanbark, and installing play equip. <br />mente Three loads of rubbish was hauled from Sequoia <br />High play area. <br /> <br />That there is need for a slide and swing fittings <br />at the Native Daughters' Park (California Square) at <br />a cost of $92.50 for ~e slide and $15.00 for the <br />fittings. <br /> <br />Supt. of Parks Walsh urged that money be expended <br />for this purchase as it may keep the children from <br />breaking the shrubs and he -pointed out that money was <br />saved from the lighting of Hawes Pprk this summer <br />which could be used. <br /> <br />MSC that the Commiss'ion recommend ths.t a purchase <br />of a slide and s'~1ing fi ttings for California Square <br />be made.' <br /> <br />t <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />, " <br />, ' , ' <br />. , , , , <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.'
