CITY OF R£DWOOD CITY <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITIZENS OPTION FOR PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> (COPS) FUNDS <br /> <br />NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN that the City of Redwood City will hold a public hearing <br />on the expenditure of $153,398.00 in State grant funds. These funds were awarded <br />through the Citizens Option for Public Safety Program (COPS). Funds must be used <br />for front line law enforcement services, including personnel, equipment, and <br />programs necessary to meet police service needs within Redwood City. The City <br />Council will consider and determine written requests submitted by the Police Chief <br />for the expenditure of funds received. <br /> <br />It will be the recommendation of the Police Chief that this year's entire award be <br />dedicated to the salaries and benefits of new police officers. <br /> <br />You have the right to comment on the proposed expenditures at the public hearing <br />to be held on the 14th day of January 2002, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 1017 <br />Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. Testimony must either be given in <br />person at the time of the public hearing or received in writing by the police <br />department prior to the date of the hearing.
