<br /> <br />~, <br /> <br />REIfNOOD CITY fARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />Regular meeting, January 27, 1948 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting was called to, order by Chairman Spina! at 7:35 p. m. <br />Mr. Spinas was called away at 7: 50 and Commissioner Jack !Joole presided for- <br />the remainder of ~he meeting. Present were Commissioners Andrew Spinas, <br />Jack Poole, Anna B. Rebb, Clem Baume, Richard McIntosh, Don Bogie, and <br />Mae JlaY9. Present also were Director Alfred Morton and Superintendent of <br />Parks, Pasco Balzarini. <br /> <br />Clyde Chell, former Cincinnati Reds catcher, Ray Farrell, Beavers' Manager for <br />1947, and George Sin~r, Beavers Athletic Club President were on hand to advise <br />the CoImDissioners on the installation of baseball facilities at Conmnmity Park. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Director Morton presented a plan for a baseball diamond. <br /> <br />Commissioner Baume moved we recommend,to the City Council the erection of <br />270 feet of 10 I fence, 200 feet of 5' fence, and two gates. . The motion was second- I <br />ed by Mrs. Robb and carried. . <br /> <br />. Commissioner Bogie moved that we recomend to the City CoWlcil the fillowing: <br />Discing and grading of the fi~]¡d'~ s:jJlstalla tion of two dugouts, and the purchase of <br />800 yards of loam for the field. The motion was seconded by Mr. McIntosh and <br />carrie d. <br /> <br />Commissioner Bogie moved that 750 seats of portable bleachers be purc~sed <br />as a temporary seating arrangement 111 th the recom.endation that these portable <br />bleachers be replace d by permanent bleachers .,men money is available. <br />Commissioner Baume seconded. The motion was carried. <br /> <br />:Mrs. i. Clark, a member of the ceramics class, presented a petition re- <br />questing the continuation of the class. Commissioner Mayo moved that we <br />recommend to the City Manager the installation of lavatory- facilities for the <br />use of craft classes at Fire House No.2. The motion was seconded by <br />Conmdssioner Bogie and carried. <br /> <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8: 55 p. m. <br /> <br /> <br />irs~~ ~ . - S.
