Postpone the official (dedication) <br />openin~ of the swimming pool until next spring. <br /> <br />3. The City Council committee on the swimming pool, Chairman <br />Robert Spillers and Floyd Granger, have approved the Commissions <br />recommendation that life guard uniforms be purchased and shall <br />not exceed $100.00. . <br /> <br />4. Red Morton reported that as of September 24th Mr. James <br />Whitehead had no further eomplaints about the Stafford Park Area. <br /> <br />5. The signs for Stafford Park (no pi chi eking etc.) were <br />definitely considered out of line according to City Attorney, Currie. <br />and in order to have such si.g;ns posted there would have to be an <br />ordinance drawn up about it. The commission members dropped the matter. <br /> <br />6. P.C.A. Discussion. <br /> <br />MSC Mr. Hanley and Mrs. Robb. Appoint a committee from the Park and <br />Recreation commission to look into the use of the name Redwood City <br />Recreation Department on P.C.A. publicity and why is the Recreation <br />Department connected with P.C.A.? <br />, ,Hanley and Morton were appointed to meet with the P.C.A. committee. <br /> <br />NEW BU,)TNESS: <br /> <br />It was suggested to send letters to all sercice organizations in <br />the city to come and tour the pool. The commission advised to wait <br />until the pool is completed and have the club members tour the pool <br />a few weeks before the official opening. <br /> <br />Discussion on scheduling of baseball games for next year at <br />Community Park. <br />MSC Mr. Hanley and Mr. Poole. Committee be appointed to work <br />with Red for next years baseball schedule. William Hanley and Jack <br />Poole were appointed to work with Red. <br /> <br />01 <br /> <br />The subject of having an electric train at Community Park such as <br />the one in San Mateo was brought up. Members of the Commission are to <br />decide on the matter next meeting. <br /> <br />~~r. Morton reported on the f~al1 program. <br /> <br />Discussion by Pasco and Red on the question of Hawes Field. Should <br />the kids be allowed to play on it or should it be strictly for softball? <br />Pasco said the kids baseball games are ruining the turf. Morton <br />disagreèd with Belzarini~'s statement. Morton stated that Junior basebal1 <br />base lengths and lanes practically conformed with the softball bases <br />end lanes and very little wear and tear came from the kids playing on the <br />field. The fields were to provide recreation for everybody in Redwood <br />City so lets use them. A committee of Mr. Poole and Mr. Hanley will <br />work with Mr. Morton and Mr. Balzarini relative to the use of the Hawes <br />Park Softball Field. <br /> <br />No further business the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. by moti~ <br />from, Mr. Baume and M'rs.
