Commissioner Donald Bogie stated that if wings were to be built they should no be set aside exclusively for the Boy-.:) S c 0 u t s, Girl Scout! or Y. M . C ~ A. but for any organization that wanted the use of them. A letter from the Ci ty Council relatbre to ordinance #525 in which the Commi!!ion felt that the Council had followed through in a fine manner. A letter from the Ci ty C,ounci1 approving the recommendation of the Park and Recreation Commi5sion to allow the Redwood City Women!' Club the use of the Recreation Center for a flower show providing they do not charge admi!sion. A letter from the West Bay Archers requesting permission to build a small box five feet long, five feet wide and six feet -high at Community Park in the rear of the Baird Lumber Company ~o be used for the storage of archery target!. ~ MSC by Commissioner! Bogie and Stout that this request be granted for one year. Final approval will be subject to the City Council. The location of the box will be determined by Park Superintendent Balzarini. Secretary Gold was instructed to direc-t the letter to the Ci ty Council. OLD BU.SINESS: - ----..r M!C by Commi!sioners Stout and Gold that a letter be sent to the City Manager req~esting that a man be provided by the Park Department to maintain the two softball fields and baseball fiè1d starting on or about March 15th, 1952. Secretary Gold read a letter from Mrs. Anna Bennett Robb who recently resigned from the Park and Recreation Commi!sion due to ill health. The Secretary was instructed to write a letter to Mrs. Robb regretting her resignation from the Commission and thanking her for the fine work she has done in the past years. Chairman Hanley will contact the City Manager requesting official data on other resignations of Commission members. NEW BUSINESS: b.. Recreation Director Alfre Morton brought up the case of Ed Quirk who was in charge of the benefit softball game held at Hawes Park last fall. ~r.
