Commissioner <br />Donald Bogie stated that if wings were to be built they should <br />no be set aside exclusively for the Boy-.:) S c 0 u t s, Girl Scout! or Y. M . C ~ A. <br />but for any organization that wanted the use of them. <br /> <br />A letter from the Ci ty Council relatbre to ordinance #525 <br />in which the Commi!!ion felt that the Council had followed through <br />in a fine manner. <br /> <br />A letter from the Ci ty C,ounci1 approving the recommendation <br />of the Park and Recreation Commi5sion to allow the Redwood City <br />Women!' Club the use of the Recreation Center for a flower show <br />providing they do not charge admi!sion. <br /> <br />A letter from the West Bay Archers requesting permission to <br />build a small box five feet long, five feet wide and six feet <br />-high at Community Park in the rear of the Baird Lumber Company <br />~o be used for the storage of archery target!. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />MSC by Commissioner! Bogie and Stout that this request be <br />granted for one year. Final approval will be subject to the <br />City Council. The location of the box will be determined by <br />Park Superintendent Balzarini. Secretary Gold was instructed <br />to direc-t the letter to the Ci ty Council. <br /> <br />OLD BU.SINESS: <br /> <br />- ----..r <br /> <br />M!C by Commi!sioners Stout and Gold that a letter be <br />sent to the City Manager req~esting that a man be provided by the <br />Park Department to maintain the two softball fields and baseball <br />fiè1d starting on or about March 15th, 1952. <br /> <br />Secretary Gold read a letter from Mrs. Anna Bennett Robb <br />who recently resigned from the Park and Recreation Commi!sion <br />due to ill health. The Secretary was instructed to write a letter <br />to Mrs. Robb regretting her resignation from the Commission and <br />thanking her for the fine work she has done in the past years. <br /> <br />Chairman Hanley will contact the City Manager requesting <br />official data on other resignations of Commission members. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />b.. <br /> <br />Recreation Director Alfre Morton brought up the case of <br />Ed Quirk who was in charge of the benefit softball game held at <br />Hawes Park last fall. ~r.
