<br />40 <br />'X, <br /> <br />247 <br /> <br />MSC by Gold and Hec:tor that a letter of appreciation for his <br />fine services rendered to the Park and Recreation Commission and <br />Redwood Ci ty be sent to Donald Bogie who tendered his resignation to <br />the Commission. <br /> <br /> <br />There was also discussion as to giving Commissioner Bogie a <br />testimonial dinner for his 14 years of faithful service. Chairman <br />, Hanley appointed Recreation Director Morton, Park Superintendant <br />Balzarini and Commissioner Gold to look into the matter. <br /> <br />Commissioner Stout reported progress on the two committees he <br />chairmans; Recreation Committee and the ttTiney Totlt playground areas <br />committee. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hector reported ths,t Sterling builders had been <br />dozing and moving out dirt preparatory to leveling off the playground <br />at Westwood Terrace #2. <br /> <br />Chairman Hanley called for a special meeting of the Park Committee <br />and the Recreation Committee on Wednesday, August 13,1952, at 7:00 P.M. <br />to determine just how the $1,000.00 allocated is to be distributed at <br />Westwood Terrace #2 between Recreational facilities and Park equipment. <br />Chairman Hanley appointed Commissioner Campbell to replace Commissioner <br />Bogie on the Park Committee. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> <br />Secretary Gold read his letter sent to the Planning Commission <br />and also the answer he received from them. Due to the fact that the <br />Commission received no satisfaction from the answer it w~s MSC by <br />.Stout and C~gell that a letter be sent to the City Council asking for <br />assistance to our request, and further that a copy of our letter to <br />the Planning Commission and their subsequent answer be attached. <br /> <br />It was recommended by ~hairman Hanley that the-- Comzhittée on High <br />School activities be tabled until further notice. <br /> <br /> <br />Recreation Director Morton expla.ined that the reason the Archery <br />Club target box had not been painted was due to the fact that he had <br />been unable to locate the proper~party to instruct him as to the exact <br />color it should be painted. He promised action and that it would be <br />taken care of before the next meeting. <br /> <br />Park Director Balzarini reported that a Mrs. Cummings called him <br />~d asked why a certain ~ea at 15th, Florence and Bay, could not be <br />beautified.
