The <br />meeti~ was called to order by the Chairman H~ley at 7:~ P.M. <br />. Present were Commissioners Eloise Campbell, William Hanley, Fred Hector, <br />Ralph Cese, Andrew Spinas, Irving Gold and Recreation Director Alfred <br />Morton. <br /> <br />Absent: <br />Balzarini. <br /> <br />Catherine Brennan, Hiram Stout and Park Director Pasco <br /> <br />The minutes of the August 6th meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />PERSONAL APfEA.RAN'CES: <br /> <br />Mrs. P. Haas, 2497 Massachusetts, secretary of the newly formed <br />Highland Community Club and a group of people from that area requested <br />information regarding the deeded land from King and Sterling Developers <br />in their area. They also notified the comrndssion that they wished to <br />go on the record as willing to help and do anything they can toward the <br />development of the Park and Recreation area. <br /> <br />Mr. Walter D. Klose, President of the Woodside Terrace Improvement <br />Club appeared and asked for information regarding his area. He was <br />informed that Commissioner Hector would notify him as to progress or <br />any other information he might require. <br /> <br />Ole Olson who repr-esented Pasco Balzarini, reported that Pesco <br />looked into the area at 17th, Florence and Bay and stated that it was <br />not worth developing, particularily since there were so many other <br />better places that need work. <br /> <br />Chairman Hanley reported on the ,dedication ceremonies of <br />Stulsaft Park. The cermonies would take place Saturday, September 6, <br />1952 and that the City Council as well as other dignitaries would be <br />on hand. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COMMIT'rEES: <br /> <br />Progress was reported on the following committees: <br /> <br /> <br />1. ' <br />f': <br />.,. , <br /> <br />Chairman Hanley appointed Commissioners Gold and Ferem (Gold to <br />chairman) to the Mayor's Yacht Harbor Committee to represent the Park <br />and Recreation Commission on the possibility of straightening out the <br />deplorable condition. <br /> <br />
