Citize <br />Spillers stated that he had spent considerable time preparing maps and <br />obtaining data needed to have this propert;T set up under park purposes. <br />He requested that the Assistant City Engineer report the cos.ts relative <br />to the overall picture of sprinkling installation at this area. " <br /> <br />Mr. Leonard Tornell stated that on December 21 he asl{ed the City Council <br />to check on the improvement of the Hetch Retchy right-of-way ~s to the <br />el5:rnination of weeds RS to a fire ha,zqrd during the su.rt~er and the flood <br />dA.m~1ge during tb.e winter. lie fe 1 t tha t many chi ldre~ could be served in <br />this areA if the park was developed and it would eliminate a terrific <br />eyesore. He also said that Westwood Playground serves many children and <br />that there is a definite need. for additional acreage. The Woodside Terrl <br />Improvement Club urges the Commission to investigate and act as soon as <br />possible. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />James Riley of 1650 Alameda stated that he was not in favor of the proje( <br /> <br />A representative of the Highlands Improvement Club stated that the Club <br />wants aSSUAr~nce that their area be considered along the Retch Hetchy <br />right~of-way and developed within the next year. <br /> <br />Councilman CArl Britschgi a~ked Mr. Spillers if he considered the financj <br />problem relative to this project. <br />
