Stout reported on the Youth Center stating that the <br />~~ayor had referred it to the Comrnission to see if any property was <br />available at Community Park for the erection of a boy scout building. <br />The co~~ittee of William Hanley and Vincent Rambo submitted their <br />report stating t~at they felt the area on Valota Road adjacent to the <br />road going in to the Armory was suitable for a building of this type. <br />Chairman Stout stated that the building would be approximately 42 X 60 <br />and he presented a rough sketch and he planned to contact the various <br />service clubs relative to this project. , <br />Recreation Director Alfred Morton voiced opposition to a building to be <br />built on city property for boy scouts only and stated that if the city <br />provides land that other youth organizations should be allowed to use <br />the builcling. <br /> <br />r~sc by Cownissioners Hanley and Campbell that a letter be sent to the <br />City Council favoring the allocation of land at Community Park for the <br />erection of a Youth Center Bui1dlng suitable for the use of the Boy <br />Scouts. . <br /> <br />Commissioner Rambo requested that the Recreation Department and the <br />Park Supt. submit a copy of their program to members of the commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Elouise Campbell stated that she had nothing to report <br />on the Li brar:y. <br /> <br />MSC by Commissioners Hanley and Rambo that a letter be sent to the City <br />Council requesting the funds set up in the unbudget-reserve for the <br />development of Maddux be authorized to be spent this fiscal year. "He <br />pointed out that the costs would þe: Sprinkling sy~tem $550.00, lawn <br />seed $150.00, Ditch Digger $n5.oo, Fertilizer $25.00, grading $1,373.00, <br />rental of seeder $400.00 and fencing $900.00. <br />
