-7, l-c/ <br /> <br /> REPORT <br /> To the:Honorable MaYor and City Council <br /> FrOm the City Manager <br /> <br /> February 25, 2002 <br /> <br />Subject <br /> Final Acceptance- Redwood Shores Improvement Project <br /> Engineering File No. 806-02 <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Accept the Redwood Shores Improvement Project, and authorize the release of the <br />payment bond and retention. <br /> <br />Background <br />On August 14, 2001, the City Council awarded the construction contract for Redwood <br />Shores Improvement Project to G. Bortolotto & Co., Inc. of San Cados, California for <br />thei~ Iow bid of $ 486,214.40. <br /> <br />The purpose of this project was to cut tree roots, remove and replace damaged curb, <br />gutter, and asphalt along Redwood Shores Parkway from Bridge Parkway to Shell <br />Parkway, and oveday the street. <br /> <br />The project has been successfully completed in accordance with the plans and <br />specifications for a total cost of $ 528,601.09. One change order was issued for a total <br />cost of $ 42,386.69, which represents 8.7% of the original bid price. The change order <br />is for the adjustment of quantities, and for additional work of resurfacing Cringle Drive <br />and Barkentine Lane in Redwood Shores. These streets were scheduled for resurfacing <br />in 2002, but were added to this project in order to utilize the grant money that was <br />available for the year 2001. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />Funds in the amount of $ 1.2 million are allocated in the 2000-2001 Capital <br />Improvement Budget as part of Gas Tax Construction and Transportation (Measure "A) <br />Funds, and augmented by a $575,000 AB2928 Street Pavement Grant. <br /> <br />M.
