Appropriations from Unappropriated Reserves <br /> <br />GENERAL FUND <br /> <br />1. Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department <br /> A. During the budget process amending the second year of the budget, $436,246 <br /> 2001-02, the costs associated with several positions were erroneously <br /> left out of the budget system. This appropriation corrects the error, and <br /> reflects the cost of previously approved positions. <br /> <br /> B. City Council authorization to allocate the election savings to support 16,000 <br /> music in City Hall Plaza series. <br /> <br /> C. City Council authorization to allocate the election savings to Housing <br /> and Human Concerns Committee. 12,000 <br /> <br />2. Library <br /> <br /> A. The City received a settlement from Baker and Taylor concerning "over- 18,802 <br /> charging" of books that were purchased by the Library. An <br /> appropriation must be established so the Library may expend these <br /> funds. <br /> B. City Council authorization to allocate the election savings to the school 4,000 <br /> library. <br /> <br />3. Police <br /> <br /> A. Council approved a new contract with All City Management Service 34,000 <br /> (crossing guards) that included an increase in rate as a direct result of <br /> the minimum wage increase and an increase in hours. The additional <br /> hours are attributed to a change from traditional sessions to year <br /> around session for three schools. <br /> B. The Police Department received a $20,000 allocation from the 20,000 <br /> Redwood City Elementary School District to fund one half of the middle <br /> school resource officer program. An appropriation must be established <br /> to cover the additional costs associated with this program, <br /> <br />5. Community Development Services <br /> <br /> A. Contracts have been approved by Council for environmental reviews for 950,000 <br /> several large developments including Marina Shores Village, Kaiser <br /> Hospital Campus Expansion, and Abbott Labs. Funds have been <br /> deposited with the City by the developers of these projects to cover the <br /> cost of these contracts. <br /> <br /> Total General Fund $1 ~4917048 <br /> <br /> A-1 <br /> <br /> <br />
