<br />.221 <br /> <br />Fun After Fifty Building - Tornell reported progre.ss and we are now <br />waiting for plans from the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Signs - Nothing reported due to Commissioner Knecht's absence. . <br /> <br /> <br />Rose Garden - Brennan. Louise Tornell, Pasco Balzarini and Cathe~ne <br />Brennan ~t with Mr. Ja~s Neal, City Manager and Mr. Clay Morgan, <br />President of the Peninsual Rose Society. Mr. Neal expressed the <br />appreciation of the Rose Society willingness to help the Commission <br />and the ,ai ty to plan and execute a M11nicipal Rose Garden. The Hose <br />Society will try to procue roses and do the pruning and help with <br />fertilizing and drawing plans for the type of garden to suit the area~~ <br />available. All Commissioners agreed it was a step in -the right' <br />direction toward dollowing our master plan. Mr. Neal will set up <br />a committee to work with the committee from the Peninsula Rose Society. <br /> <br />..., <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Chairman Schutz brought up the matter of Commissioner Golds absence <br />from the' 'Commission meetings. The Commission as a whole agreed that <br />a letter be written to the City Manager requesting that he determine <br />Commissioner Golds status on the Commission. Also, the letter is to <br />state that he has missed many meetings due to business commitments. <br /> <br />Red Morton made a sug!-restion that the Park and ltecreation Cornmission <br /> <br />-.- ' <br /> <br />hange their meeting place from the Conference Room to the Confernece <br />Ro~ at the Veterans Memorial Building. The Co~issioMrs presem <br />were in favor of ~the move. Red Morton is to bring it to the City <br />Manager's attention to see what can be done. <br /> <br />The Commission was fn favor os writing.a letter to Mrs. Sterling at <br />Mr. Mortons request. The letter is to congratlllate Mrs. Sterling for <br />båfgg chosen for the' Outstanding Senior Citizen's Award for San Mateo <br />County.
