<br />'~4.J,':<'-- .', ' , <br /> <br />t~jt28 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />With no further business the meeting was adjourned. <br />Catherine Brennan, Secretary <br /> <br />., <br /> <br />RED1i\rOOD CITY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />December 2,1959 <br /> <br /> <br />The regqlar .meeting o[ the Park and Recreation Commission was called <br />to order by Chairman Maurice Schutz, at 8:00 p.m. in the Conference <br />Room at the Veterans Memorial Building. <br /> <br />On roll call the following were~ present Chairman Schutz, Commissioners: <br />Alyn Beals, Catherine Brennan, J~es Knecht, Louise Tornell, William <br />Hanley and Irving Gold. Also, present was staff member Red Morton. <br />Mr. Balzarini was nQted absent. <br /> <br />The minutes were approved as read with~ote to two corrections. Page <br />1, paragraph 7 should read "Yacht Harbor - Hanley reported the meeting <br />with the State Small Craft Harbors Commission" to be held November 16 <br />in Oakland regarding state loan of $300,000. Page 2, paragraph 5 <br />corrected to read - that a letter.. be w ~i tten to the City Manager to <br />"investigate" an addition of another pool to the existing community <br />pool by utilizing the existing under ground facilities. <br /> <br />'" <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Brouhard, 3705 Country Club Drive, liedwood City, made a <br />personnal appearance representing ~he Rancho Pulgas Family Club. He <br />showed plans made to scale on the Goonan property which the club <br />hopes to develop if the planning commission and city counèil approve <br />it. There will be some 350 members and it would have a swimming pool <br />and tennis courts and parking area wi thin the property are a. It is a <br />private family club. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Co~ssioner Gold and seconded by Commissioner <br />Tornell that the Commission go on ~ecord as not opposing the develop- <br />ment of the Rancho Pulgas Family Club. < A letter to this effect is to <br />be written to the City Manager with copies to Mr. Knittel, Assistant <br />Planning Director, Mr. Spillers and Mr. Herkner, Councilman, àlso, <br />Mr. Brouhard. <br /> <br />.... <br />'" <br />A letter from Mr. Neal, City Manager was read regarding investigation <br />of utilizing the present facilities of Community Pool. He will <br />investigate and reply later. " <br /> <br />Stulsaft Park - Gold reported paving completed in Parking lot. <br />Phase #1 and the underbrush is being cleared in Phase #2. <br /> <br />Yacht Harbor - Hanley~r~ported the loan from the State Small Harbors <br />Commission had been granted, plans accepted and the project will <br />start as soon as bids are let out. <br /> <br /> <br />if'" <br /> <br />Fun After Fifty Activities - Beals reported t~e Redwood City Kiwan~s <br />Club will appoint a cornmi ttee to work on the contrib1.1tions they feel <br />will be contributed (which will probably be for incidental items <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />. . <br />
