<br />5Z,//-1 <br /> <br />R~P(J.R Í <br /> <br /> <br />September 12, 2005 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Final Acceptance - Broadway/Woodside Road Intersection Improvements Project <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Accept the Broadway/Woodside Road Intersection Improvements Project, and <br />authorize the release of the payment bond and retention. <br /> <br />Background <br />On February 7, 2005, the City Council awarded the construction contract for the <br />Broadway/Woodside Road Intersection Improvements Project to Interstate Grading & <br />Paving, Inc. of South San Francisco, California, for their low bid of $143,463.25. <br /> <br />The purpose of this project was to modify the median island and left turn lanes on <br />Broadway at Woodside Road to improve the traffic flow from southbound Broadway <br />onto the southbound Highway 101 on-ramp lanes; and to modify the existing traffic <br />signal system at Broadway/Woodside Road to imrove the turning movement from <br />northbound Broadway onto the southbound 101 onramps, along with other minor signal <br />improvements to enhance safety. <br /> <br />The project has been successfully completed in accordance with the plans and <br />specifications for a total cost of $142,630.75. One change order, for installation of <br />additional signs and a final quantity adjustment, was issued for a total credit of <br />($832.50). <br /> <br />Alternatives <br />Do not accept the Broadway/Woodside Road Intersection Improvements Project, which <br />would be contrary to prior Council action. <br /> <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />Funds in the amount of $931,000.00 are appropriated in the 2004-2005 Capital <br />Improvement Program under Traffic Mitigation for the Woodside Road Widening.
