The regular meeting of the Park ~d Recreation C~ission was cal~d to ord~ by Chairman Maurice Schutz at 8:00 p.m. in the Conference Ro~ at the Veterans Memorial Bui1di~. On roll c~l the foll~ing were present Ch~~~M~rice Sc~z Commissioners; Irving.,Gold, Loui-se Tornell, Catherine Brennan, Ålyn Beals, Ray Lunny and IT~es Knecht. Also present were st~f me~ers Pasco Balzarini, park superintendem, Red Morton, recreation super- visor and guest and past. member of the -commission Eloise Campbell. ð M. S. C. that the minute s be approverl as mailed'. Chairman Schuh read a letter from the Pl~ning department regardi~ the Family Swim and Tennis Club request for locating on the Coonan property. TMs matter is to have a public hearing before the PlaMi~ Commission on January 12th. Commissioner Gold is to look into the matter and report back ~ the next meeti~. ' Stulsaft Park - Commissioner Gold reported progress. Commissioner G~ld reqtlested that each commissioner be given a map pf Stulsaft Park. Yacht Harbor.. Chairman Schut z, had nothing tor aport. A map from the Army Engineer&- was received which explained what is going to done at the Yacht Harbor. Rose Garden - Commissioner Brennan reported progress. Comrndssioner ' BreMan stated that the MW presMMt of the Roæ Society is 100% behind the development of thegarden. .... ... Signs - Commissioners Knecht and Gold are to meet with Red Morton next week to discuss the matter of the signs and repo~t back at the next meet i.'ng"~,' .... Items: 6 year plan and Circle Park are to be dropped from the agenda. Commi ssioner Gold asked that Union Cemetery be put on the agenda again. Gold is to contact the City Manager regarding.s.ame. The subject of the bridge at Community Park and .the sand cliff at stulsaft were questioned;. Pasco Balzarini stated that these two items are to be brought up before the Safety Committee. Commissioner Knecht brought up the question of having a parking lot at the little leag11e fiAld. With no information at hand Commis stoner Knecht is t 0 ~"'see the City Manager regarding thi smatter. Commissioner Ray Lunny expressed that he was looking forward to working with the Co~nission. Pasco Balzarini stated the schools had requested turfed areas for John Gill School ~d Benj~ine FraMl1n School. There was a discussion on whether or not these areas needed turfing.
