<br />REDWOOD CITY PARK ÆND RECREATION COMMISSION

<br />The regular meeting~of the Park and Recreation Commission was called
<br />to order by Chaiman"J~es ~echt at 8:00 p.m. in the Conference Ro~
<br />of the Veterans Memorial Building.
<br />
<br />On roll call the following w~re present, Chairman James Knecht,
<br />Commissioners;~Maurice Schutz, Catherine Brennan, Wally Harder,'
<br />Louise Torne,ll, Alyn Beals and Jim SlobÐdian. Also present were staff
<br />members. Red Morton, WID. She wry , Pasco Balzarini and Wilma Engebretson
<br />secretary, Recreation Department.

<br />Chairman Knecht read a letter he had written to the City Manager

<br />Yacht Harbor - After discussion it was agreed that everything was going
<br />smooth.

<br />stulsaft Park - Commissioner Schutz asked Mr. She wry what had been
<br />done at Stulsaft and he reported the road has been covered with crushed
<br />rock. Also, a permanent bridge has been put in between phas #1 and #2.
<br />
<br />At this time Commissioner Schutz asked the status of Union Cemetery,
<br />Mr. She wry said they had been informed to cancel all operations of the
<br />cemetepy. ~

<br />. Fun After '50 - Commissioner Tornell had nothing to report.
<br />
<br />Rose Garden - Commissioner Brennan had nothing to report. Pasco
<br />Balzarini~stated at this time trees will be going in along Main and
<br />'~i pp Ie .
<br />
<br />Commissioner Beals brought up the matter of Redwood City accepting the
<br />Bufano statue if the City~of San Francisco would be willing to give
<br />it to the city. There were many suggestions from the commissioners
<br />as to where it could be put - Yacht Harbor, parks, etc. Commissioner
<br />Tornell was appointed to write a letter to this effect.
<br />
<br />~ Beals asked that a letter be written to the city asking the status of
<br />the money given by the Kiwanis Club for a Little League baseball field.
<br />
<br />A letter was read from Wally Byam Caravan Club Inc. asking if they
<br />could hold a show at Community Park or the Yacht Harbor. Due to the
<br />fact the city~does not have trailer facilities at either of these
<br />places it was suggested that a letter be written to them informing of
<br />same and refering them to the County.
<br />
<br />Red Morton is to bring a report to next monthf.s meeting regarding sales
<br />tax and what the city plans are as far as the six year plan.
<br />
<br />Chairman Knecht asked that a name plate be ordered for new commissioner
<br />Jim Slobodian.
<br />
<br />With no further business the meeting adjourned.
