All future planning revolves around the Master Plan. <br /> <br />MSC--Beals and Slobodian. This Commission recommends to the City Council <br />that the name of Dove Beeger be considered as the new name for Circle Park. <br />The . Park to be known as the Dove Beeger Park. The Commission feels that <br />Dove Beeger, who has served so well in Redwood City,.her long service on <br />the Board of Directors of Sequoia Hospital. The Commission feels that Dove <br />Beeger deserves this recognition for her untiring work. <br /> <br />The Commission agreed to send a letter to Mayor Weymouth congratulating <br />him on his recent election as governor of the Kiwanis Club. The <br />Commission is very happy, that this honor has been bestowed upon our <br />Mayor. Slobodian, Secretary <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY PARK AND RE'CREATI OI{ COM~~ISSION l\~EETING, DECEMBER 6, 1961. <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Vice ChairmanAJ_yn Beals at 8 :10 p.m. in the Conference Room <br />of the Veterans Memorial Building. <br /> <br />Following Commissioners were present: A1yn Beals, Jim Knecht, Catherine <br />Brennan, Louise Tornell, Maurice Schutz and Jim Slobodian. Absent: <br />Chairman Wallace Harder. Staff members present were: Red Morton, Pasco <br />Balzarini, William Shewry and Don Dimitratos. <br /> <br />MSC--That minutes of November 1, 1961 meeting be approved as mailed. <br /> <br />l.--Communi ty Park Night Watering-.-This has been approved by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />.., <br /> <br />2.--Community Park Rest Rooms--This also has been approved by the City <br />Council and construction will begin soon~ <br /> <br />3.--Parking Lot between Bechet and Grif~in Fields--It was suggested <br />by Vice Chairman Alyn Beals that a copy of a letter pertaining to <br />this item be sent to the City Council Park and Recreation C~ission. <br /> <br />- It was further stated that all correspondence in the future <br />to City Manager that copies of the cor~espondence be sent to the <br />three men City Council Park and Recreation Committee. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />Boys Camp--Mr. Brown of San Mateo County Probation Department <br />appeared before the Commission and outlined the idea behind the <br />boys' camp movement. <br /> <br />'Park and Recreation Commission recommended that a letter be sent to <br />the City Council requesting that a Family Recreation Building ~e <br />constructed. <br /> <br />Adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br /> <br />J.
