<br />He also suggested that this type of planning for this area would
<br />eliminate some of the present problems that now exist at this park
<br />such as:, the playing of football and baseball and would in general
<br />make for a quieter and more peaceful park.

<br />It was MSC that any:recommendations on this plan be carried over to
<br />the next regular meeting and that the public be invited through an
<br />article in the newspaper.

<br />A report was given by Mr. Morton that the model plan field was 9~~
<br />completed and the dedication date had been set for June 1st.

<br />Meeting called to order by Chairman, Jim Knecht. Commissioners present:
<br />Louise Tornel1, Stan Sugarman and Bob Whitmore. Noted absent: Doris
<br />Thompson, Maurice Schutz and Alyn Beals. Guests present: Mrs. Travers,
<br />Mrs. Paloulozzo, 'Mr. Jar1enski, Mrs. Robbins and Mr. Ben Leese.

<br />Minutes of last meeting were read and corrected to state that Alyn Beals
<br />had been excused early from the meeting of May 6.

<br />Personal Appearance: Mr. Jarlenski, Mrs. Robbins and Mr. Leese appeared
<br />as interested individuals to point out the advantages of centering any
<br />major recreational planning for the east side of town in the Hoover
<br />School area. Many constructive recommendations were made and will be
<br />taken under advisement by the commis~ion.

<br />Mrs. Travers appeared on behalf of the Redwood City Civic Association
<br />and said that she had surveyed some of the people in the immediate area
<br />
<br />

<br />of Stafford Park and found that they were not ln favor of any maJor
<br />changes in the park except for the possibility of a tennis court and
<br />some improvement in the small children play area.

<br />
<br />Mr. Balzarini reported that Fleishman Park' was 95% completed.
<br />
<br />Mr. Morton reported that progress on the development of the Baird -
<br />property at the present time was being held up pending the removal
<br />of trees. - Mr. Balzarini said that monies for the removal of trees
<br />from the Baird property had been cut from his budget.
