Mr. Balzarini reported that all <br />monies for any major changes at Stafford Park had been removed from <br />the budget except for monies to improve the kiddies play area and to <br />cement around the drinking fountain. <br /> <br /> <br />It was motioned, seconded and carried that a letter be sent to Mr. <br />Neal under the request of the Park and Recreation Commission that he <br />seek the help from the Street Dept. for some asphalt chatter strips <br />to be placed on the roads in Community Park. It was felt by the <br />Cqmmission that this would help reduce the speed of traffic and would <br /> <br />, , , <br /> <br />give better public safety in the area. <br /> <br />New Business: <br /> <br />.A report was given by Bob "Whitmore about his meeting with some of ,th'e <br />,people on the Traffic & Safety Conun. in regard to the re-routing of <br />Va lot a Rd. It ~as MSC that a letter be sent to Mr. Neal and a ~opy to <br />theTraffuic & Safety c~. that ~e Park Rec. Co~. still feels fuat the <br />problem of widening Jefferson should not have any major effect on the <br />Va lot a Rd. traffic and that no plans should be made for the use of Park <br />and Rec. use for Redwood City ounder pending legislation for Fed. grants. <br /> <br />Mr. Balzarini reported that the landscaping of the Sequoia Yacht Club <br />was almost completed. ' <br /> <br />It was MSC that the Park and Recreation Conunission go on record as <br />opposing the use of any Community Center property for off street parking <br />for the Veterans Memorial Building.
