V'I <br /> <br />MSC that a letter be sent to Mr. Neal and to the Council strongly <br />recommending that the Park and Recreation Departments be placed under <br />the direction of one department head. <br /> <br />MSC that a letter be sent to Mr. Neal inviting him to attend the Park <br />and Recreation Commission meetings. The Commission is hopeful that <br /> <br />, <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Neal will be able to attend these meetings and become familiar <br />with some of the operational problems of the Commission. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF THE PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />Wednesday, October 7, 1964 <br /> <br />Veteran1s Memorial Building. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman James Knecht at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Chairman James Knecht, Maurice Schutz, A1Yn Beals, Robert <br />Whitmore, Doris Thompson and Louise Tornell. Also present. were: City <br />Manager James. Neal, Park Superintendent. Pasco Balzarini, Assistant <br />Park Superintendent William Shewry, Recreation Director Alfred Morton, <br />Assistant Recreation Director Don Dimitratos and Recreation Supervisor <br />Sally Hartman. <br /> <br />MSC by Maurice Schutz and Robert Whitmore that minutes of Sept. 2 and <br />Sept. 14 be approved as mailed. <br /> <br />. John Crevelt, 1484 Mitchell Way, spoke- regarding the land known .-as <br />the Coonan property and the possibility of it becoming part of the <br />Stulsaft Park properties. He stated that this property is choice <br />residential land and the grade is actually too steep to be used for <br />recreational purposes. He stated that the majority of the property <br />owners adjacent to this area are opposed to this property being <br />developed for park and recrational purposes.
