Mr. Balzarini reported that there were only 22 <br />portable bleachers at Recreation SWimming Pool which could <br />be used. . <br /> <br />Commissioner Thompson moved that Chairman Beals consult with <br />Red MOrton and Pasco Balzarini to attempt to secure funds <br />for additional bleachers. Seconded by Jack Stuart a nd <br />carried. <br /> <br />Red MOrton introduced the new Assistant Recreation Director, Mr. <br />Bill Paulson, who had replaced Don Dimitratos. <br /> <br />VETERANS BLVD. BEAUTIFICATION - report by Pasco Balzarini <br /> <br />Mr. Balzarini had no report at this time. <br /> <br />FRIENDLY ACRES PROJECT - report by Alfred MOrton <br /> <br />Mr. MOrton reportéd that agreement was in District Attorney's <br />office then would go to City Attorney and that Mr. MOrton <br />would have full information by August 16th. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF A CONSULTANT FOR PREPARATION OF A MASTER PLAN FOR <br />REDWOOD CITY PARK AND RECREATION FACILITIES AND FUTURE LAND <br />ACQUISITION. <br /> <br />Mrs. Thompson reported that City Manager Neal had urged that <br />she encourage Commission to proceed with getting figures con- <br />cerning cost of hiring an "outsidell consultant for 'survey. <br />Mr. Morton said all information requested by consultant would <br />be ready next week so that cost could be secured. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER - report by Doris Thompson <br /> <br />Mrs. Thompson reported as follows: She had taken Commission <br />recommendations to City Manager Neal and that on request for <br />playground equipment for Stulsaft and Friendly Acres areas <br />that City Manager had not seemed sold on need for Stulsaft <br />project but had concurred in, need at 2nd Ave. site and had <br />encouraged that similar installation be considered for Mez- <br />es Park, this year or next.
