Commissioner Thompson asked what <br />progress was being made on the ,Commission request for the additional <br />lot at the Friendly Acres playground and was advised that no definite <br />information was available at this time. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />STOP SIGNS - Hopkins Avenue and Kîng Street and <br /> <br />~ STOP SIGNS - Hopkins Avenue and Lowell Street: <br /> <br />Mr. Balzarini stated that the Traffic Bureau had not met for several <br />months but. would be meeting tomorrow morning (Feb. 3) and that our <br />request would be consîdered at that time. Mr. Balzarini said he felt <br />that the Bureau's recommendation would be for IISlow.. playground" <br />signs. Chairman Beals suggested that similar signing be considered <br />for playgrounds at Stul$aft Park and Friendly Acres. <br /> <br />12. B.P.O.E. #1991 - Easter < Egg Hunt: Chairman Beals advised that <br />the Elks Club wanted to hold an Easter Egg Hunt on April 3rd (Palm <br />Sunday) and Mr. Morton said the Junior Chamber of Commerce was also <br />planning one for around that time. The matter was referred to Staff <br />for working out with the suggestion by Mr. stuart that the two groups <br />could possibly combine their efforts. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />13. SECRETARY; Chairman Beals noted the resignation of the steno- <br />grapher for taking of Commission minutes and said he wouæd explore <br />the possibility of getting another one. <br /> <br />(Mr. Bill Paulson arrived at the meeting at 8:10 p.m.) <br /> <br />14. PARK SITE SUGGESTIONS - Report by Councilman Sidney Herkner <br />and City Manager Ullrich: Mr. Herkner and Mr. Ullrich were not <br />present and Chairman Beals stated that he had no information on <br />the matter. <br /> <br />1115 II COMMENTS FROM :PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSIONÉRS, PARK SUPER- <br />INTENDENT, RECREATION DIRECTOR - pertaining to old or new business: <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER THOMPSON asked on progress on the IlKîds Fishing Pier II <br /> <br />I .r- r II rr v- <br /> <br /> <br />at the Marina, noting that she had visited the Marina during one <br />cold Sunday morning and that even then that 10 or 12 youngsters <br />. were trying to fish from various spots along the channel.
