Tþ_oumplslon stated that she had received a copy of a IInews- <br />~etterll which contained some mis-information concerning development <br />of a IICity Park which the Shores will dedicate in an "undeveloped <br />statell and wished to publicly correct the statement that the park <br />apparently referred to is the 3S-acre park planned for ~the Redwood <br />Shores Project on Redwood Peninsula and which will be a completely <br />developed, landscaped park at improvement district cost.- <br /> <br /> <br />Co~i~~i9~~r §ipeA announced that Marina Committee is arranging--for a <br />loan from the Division of Small Craft Harbors for paving of parking <br />area at the Marina1 that Marina is paying all its bills and income <br />is slightly larger than outgo. . <br /> <br />~onunissi_onerl Kn;echt asked if the $14,500 for- re-developrnent of Chestnut <br />Playground had been put in budget and was advised by Mr. Balzarini <br />that it had and had been approved by the City Manager for consider- <br />ation by the budget review committee. <br /> <br />Mr. Balzarini said that $500 for headerboards and sand and $1,600 for <br /> <br />- - w¡- -'-.'1 -1- ~r <br /> <br /> <br />equipment at Maddux playground had also been included in his budget <br />request; that he would have a 'report on the lawn bowling project <br />at the next meeting¡ that his department had started renovation of <br />grass at Community Park7 and that he had a tentative lead on a <br />possible $500 contribution which could be used for planting the <br />228 redwood trees along Veterans' ~Blvd. <br /> <br />Chairman Beals mentioned the IIturnoff island" at Whipple and Veterans <br />which was in an unsightly state and that he had asked the City <br />Manager to check on its ownership and possibility of beautifying it. <br /> <br />Chairman Beals asked that suggestions and reports for Mr. Winans be <br />given to commission or Mr. Morton so that they could be sent to <br />Mr. Winans. <br /> <br />Mr. Beals announced that commissioners will serve as liaison members to <br />the various survey sub-committees as follows: Parks and P1aygrounds- <br />Robert Whitmore and Ann Gooding; Buildings & Pools - Jack Stuart: <br />Municipal Marina - Jasper Sipes( Golf Courses - James Knecht: and <br />Redwood Shores - Alyn Beals and Doris Thompson. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m. with Survey sUb-committee meetings <br />immediately following. <br /> <br />-DORIS C.
