Chairman 'Beals <br />suggested that Committees make broad recommendations - large or <br />small parks, or by age~ for use as tot lots, etc., as size and <br />location would indicate use it should be put to. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER KNECHT complimented the Park Department for its efforts <br />and participation in recent Flower and Art Show and the Recreation <br />Department for its fine cooperation in the Parochia~Schools' <br />baseball league. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER SIPES told of visit to San Leandro -Marina where he learn- <br />ed that State had provided funds for their fishing pier and that <br />he had suggested to the City Manager that City look into possibil- <br />ity of State doing same for Redwood City; noted suggestions by <br />Marina Committee of the Citizens Committee; that he had discovered <br />truck dumping cement chunks and fill into water near Sea Scout <br />Building and that he had asked trucker to s top; that he was con- <br />cerned that such debris would raise the mud level of area and <br />that it should be removed. Mr. -Motton stated that driver was rin <br />error and that company had been advised of his mistake. <br /> <br /> <br />PARK SUPT. BALZARINI thanked Mrs. Thompson for her part in helping <br />make the recent Flower and Art Show a success and Commissioner <br />Knecht for his beautîful display of roses and complimented Mayor <br />-' Herkner and the City Council for presenting the Certificates of <br />Appreciation to the Park Dept. and the twelve organizations who <br />had presented the Show. Mr. Balzarini announced that he and Mr. <br />Morton had prepared the agenda for tonights meeting;- "that new <br />equipment had been ordered for remodeling Mezes Park and was <br />being stalled - two older pieces (jungle jim and swings) having <br />been left; that he would have 4 new pieces of equipment in the <br />Maddux Playground by June. Mr. Balzarini was asked to provide <br />each commissioner with a copy of 1966-67 budgets.' <br /> <br />RECREATION DIRECTOR MORTON advised that Sally Hartman of the Recrea- <br /> <br />. , <br /> <br />tion Dept. had compiled the Summer Recreation Program brochure <br />and that this information would be sent to the newspaper.
