<br />MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING REPORT by Jack Stuart: Commissioner
<br />Stuart advised that plans had been received by the, City
<br />

<br />Manager1s office, approved by the City Council and that
<br />bids would be received in about thr.ee weeks: that p~ans
<br />and specifications, excepting those for mechanical work-
<br />ing-drawings, ,had been approved by the~Commissionts Sub-
<br />Committee for the project: that Sub-Committee had ~orked
<br />diligently on the plans and had considered everyt~ing
<br />possible to make the project. a-complete and functional
<br />one. Mr. Ullrich explained that. he had not known that the
<br />

<br />Suh-Committ~e had not approved the mechanical drawings be-
<br />fore he had placed the item ~n the Council Agenda for June~
<br />27th until the afternoon ef that date; that he contacted
<br />the several committee "members available who gave v~rbal
<br />approval to presenting the item to the' Council on this date,
<br />rather" than hold up the calling of bids to ~ later date;
<br />that the architect's.estimate of th~ project was.approx.
<br />$20,000 higher than originally estimated, possibly reflect-
<br />ing the soils,' report, addi tional increased labor costs in
<br />some areas, etc. Chairman Beals complimented the Sub-
<br />Committee. for their concentrated efforts in following
<br />through on the plans for the Baird Property project.
