<br />L66 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />in 1959-for another Community Park location; complimented chair- <br />man Whitmore on the outstanding dedication ceremonies at Hoover <br />Pool which included a diving exhibition by students of Clyde <br />Devine, and noted that the entire Hoover School student body <br />had been assembled inside the enclosed pool area; referred back <br />to minutes of February 1, 1967, Commis~ion meeting wherein former <br />commissioner Jasper Sipes had presented a suggested IIbicycle <br />trail" for Redwood City'and asked permission to contact the <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />City Manager to see"what was being done on the matter. Mrs. <br />Thompson cited many other cities who h~d provided such type <br />trails, and the"great need for them in our City because of in- <br />creased traffic hazards. - <br /> <br />On MOTION of Dixon Arnett, seconded by Jim Williams, Secretary <br />Thompson was asked to~write the City Manager, and refer to the <br />February minutes, and inquire if any action had been taken on <br />the matter and'to suggest that perhaps,the County be contacted <br />for any plans they might have which might tie into a bicycle <br />trail for Redwood City." Passed. (11-29-67) <br /> <br />Commissioner Arnett: advised that Stanford Crew had decided <br /> <br />-'I iI7' .din. u r . <br /> <br /> <br />through independent study not to move their existing structure <br />at the Marina but have embarked on some interim studies to de- <br />termine what type building they need and they will come up with <br />ideas perhaps by the first of the year with an architects rend- <br />ering type of form to present to City for approval. When app- <br />roved, the Alumni Committee will embark on a fund raising cam- <br />paign. The group will have some of their engineering people <br />come in and make an initial survey for a new building; reported <br />that he had been in New York recently and had had opportunity <br />to try to get private capital backing for a restaurant facility <br />at the Marina; that interest had been demonstrated for a high <br />type operation and building but that no conceete information <br />was available at this time. Mr. Arnett said he would report to <br />Mr. Ullrich. <br /> <br />Cq~i~sioner William~r reported he had attended Mayor Herkner1s <br />get-together in San Francisco at the League of California Sities <br />conference. <br /> <br />qo~i~sion~r ~ech~ stressed need for parks in the Palm-Kent- <br />field area for the future. <br /> <br />PaJ:'}t S.uP~Fi~tßendeJn~ Ba,~zarj.~ni: advised that brief cases for Mr. <br />Arnett and Mr. Williams would be ready next month; presented <br />design drawings for~ the gazebo for the Rose Garden. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
