Chairman Stuart was authorized to arrange such a meet- ing at the earliest possible time and advise commissioners of dates: expressed concern over the fact that the redwood tree near the front en~rance of C.A.B. haq been aut down without know- led,ge of the commission, the tree having been a focal point of the building design, ~n'd suggesting that perhaps some treatment might have been made to save it. Mr. Balzarini said that during construction the contractor had disturbed oak-leaf fungus _iQ the area which had spread to the tree and killed itJ that there is no cure for oak-leaf fungus, and that adjacent trees are care- fully being watched for possible infection: reported on piece of property belonging to City o~ San Jose, approx. 25 acres - at Lake Tahoe which had been leased from federal government for wilderness camp ground and which San Jose was relinquishing because of its securing 150 acres near Yose- mite. Chairman Stuart appointed Dixon Arnett and Bob Whitmore and Pasco Balzarini to contact Mr. Bramwell of San Jose and look at plans:, invited commissioners to attend Easter Sunrise Services -- on April 14.
