January 28, 2OO2 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Task Order No. 1 - John Cahalan Landscape Architect - Main/Maple & <br />Broadway/Hopkins Intersection Improvements <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Approve Task Order No. 1 to the Agreement with John Cahalan Landscape Architect for <br />additional Engineering and Design Services (Construction Contract Support Services) <br />for the Main/Maple & Broadway/Hopkins Intersection Improvements Project, in an <br />amount not to exceed $4,575. <br /> <br />Background <br />John Cahalan Landscape Architect designed the reconstruction of the Main/Maple & <br />Broadway/Hopkins Intersection Improvements. Plans were completed and bids were <br />opened on December 5, 2001. On January 14, 2002, the City Council awarded the <br />construction contract to J.J.R. Construction, of San Mateo, California, for their Iow bid of <br />$347,192.55. <br /> <br />As part of the support to the City during construction, John Cahalan will be responding <br />to contractors questions, reviewing submittals as necessary, and preparing the "as-built" <br />drawings. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />Do not approve Task Order No. 1 to the Agreement with John Cahalan Landscape <br />Architect, which would be contrary to previous Council action. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Funds in the amount of $4,575 are available in the 2001/2002 Capital Improvement <br />Program budget to authorize increase in the fees. <br /> <br /> ,','/ IZ- <br /> - led Everett <br />Brian Lee /;~ocf Patterson <br />Senior Civil Enginee/~'//Manager, Engineering & ConstructionCity Manager <br /> <br />BL:ss <br />S/library/reports/brian/TASK ORDER #1_John Cahalan <br /> <br /> <br />
