Employee' s Retirement System (PERS) listed in Attachment D. <br /> May 1 - May 31 shall be the annual open enrollment period. <br /> Retirement-- For Executive Service personnel employed by the City as of <br /> April 1, 1983, who have ten (10) years of service and retire under the <br /> City's retirement, the maximum City contribution toward health plan <br /> coverage shall be equal to the percent of premium paid for current <br /> employees. That amount shall be set forth in Attachment D. Attachment <br /> D will be revised July 1, 1993. <br /> For Senior Executives who have five (5) years of service and retire <br /> under the City's retirement plan, the maximum City contribution toward <br /> health plan coverage shall be equal to the percent of premium paid for <br /> current employees. That amount shall be set forth in Attachment D. <br /> Attachment D will be revised July 1, 1993. <br /> Those employees hired after 4/1/83 who have (10) years of service and <br /> retire under the City's retirement plan shall have a minimum health <br /> care contribution of $16.00 per month paid by the City. <br /> An employee employed by the City on April 1, 1983, or thereafter, who <br /> retires under the retirement plan provided by Redwood City and has ten <br /> (10) years of service may continue to participate in one of the City's <br /> medical insurance plans at his/her expense. <br /> Employees hired between April 1, 1983 and March 31, 1986, shall be <br /> eligible to participate in medicare with the City and the employee each <br /> contributing 1.45% of their gross earnings to medicare. Participants <br /> shall be subject to all federal statutes governing medicare. <br /> Dental Insurance - The City shall contribute sixty dollars ($60.00) <br /> per month per each covered employee to provide dental care benefits for <br /> employees and eligible dependents of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) <br /> per year and orthodonture coverage of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) <br /> per eligible member. In the event the rate exceeds ($60.00) per month <br /> for each covered employee, the City shall pay the excess amount until <br /> September 30, 1993. <br /> Vision Care - The City shall contract with Vision Service Plan (VSP) <br /> or a comparable vision care provider to provide vision care benefits <br /> for employees and their dependents. The Vision Service Plan B provides <br /> for an exam every 12 months, lenses every 12 months if needed, and <br /> frames every 24 months if needed. There will be no deductible for <br /> employees, but a $20.00 per person deductible will apply to dependents <br /> each time benefits are available and will be paid by the employee. <br /> Savings Clause - If, pursuant to any federal or state law which may <br /> become effective subsequent to the effective date of this policy, the <br /> City is required to pay contributions or taxes for <br /> hospital-medical-surgical , dental care, prescription drug or other <br /> health benefits to be provided its employees under such federal or <br /> state act, the City's obligation to furnish the same benefits under the <br /> hospital-medical programs shall be suspended and the contributions <br /> 14 <br /> • <br />
