Mr. Knecht was encouraged to do the study. Mr. Knecht told of his attending a meeting on Jan. 29 at the Hyatt House in Burlingame given by KRON-TV and said he had suggested a documentary on the watershed and its value to the peninsula. COMMISSIONER MORGAN said she had a~other inquiry re tree trimming on Park street and was pleased to learn that this work was to be done. Mr. Balzarini said he had had call from Mrs. Marks and was meeting the contractor tomorrow. COMMISSIONER WHITMORE thanked Mrs. Randy for coming and expressed his hope that something could be worked out for the area which would be a real asset to the community.- COMMISSIONER THOMPSON told that interest is developing on doing something about Union Cemetery. Making the cemetery into a IIquiet typefl- park had been suggested some time ago by the comm- ission and this idea had been encouraged by the Centennial = Conunittee. Mrs. Thompson told of a visit to- Pioneer Memorial Park in Mt. View which had previously been a cemetery but which in 1966 had been developed into a most inviting quiet-type park. Mrs. Thompson said she had taken a number of colored pic- tures of Pioneer Memorial Park, as well as the present condition of Union Cemetery, _and would like the mat ter on the March agenda. CHAIRMAN STUART reported that he had spoken before the Sunrise Lions Club re the Park & Recreation Element to the General Plan, and re funds to help on a temporary park project in the Gemco area. Mr. Stuart suggested that Mr. Balzarini and Mr. Yoshida provide a sketch and- cost estimates for the IIGemco" project which could encourage other service clubs interest. Mr. Stuart provided commissioners with updated commissioners cards and presented Commissioner Mabie with his attache case and meeting name plate.
