Mr. Knecht was encouraged <br />to do the study. Mr. Knecht told of his attending a meeting on <br />Jan. 29 at the Hyatt House in Burlingame given by KRON-TV and <br />said he had suggested a documentary on the watershed and its <br />value to the peninsula. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER MORGAN said she had a~other inquiry re tree trimming <br />on Park street and was pleased to learn that this work was to be <br />done. Mr. Balzarini said he had had call from Mrs. Marks and <br />was meeting the contractor tomorrow. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER WHITMORE thanked Mrs. Randy for coming and expressed <br />his hope that something could be worked out for the area which <br />would be a real asset to the community.- <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER THOMPSON told that interest is developing on doing <br />something about Union Cemetery. Making the cemetery into a <br />IIquiet typefl- park had been suggested some time ago by the comm- <br />ission and this idea had been encouraged by the Centennial = <br />Conunittee. Mrs. Thompson told of a visit to- Pioneer Memorial <br />Park in Mt. View which had previously been a cemetery but which <br />in 1966 had been developed into a most inviting quiet-type <br />park. Mrs. Thompson said she had taken a number of colored pic- <br />tures of Pioneer Memorial Park, as well as the present condition <br />of Union Cemetery, _and would like the mat ter on the March agenda. <br /> <br />CHAIRMAN STUART reported that he had spoken before the Sunrise <br />Lions Club re the Park & Recreation Element to the General Plan, <br />and re funds to help on a temporary park project in the Gemco <br />area.
