2 Camino Real as presented to the Commission, seconded by Commiss- ioner Thompson, and passed on the following vote: YES - Comm- issioners Knecht, Morgan, Stuart and Thompson¡ NO - Commissioner Schenck¡ ABSTAINING - Commissioner Whitmore; and ABSENT - Comm- issioner Coffis. Commissioner Schenck indicated his NO vote was because he felt ihe sign design was not too innovative or attractive. Commiss- ioner Whitmore ABSTAINED as he felt design was not the most attractive set of telephone poles and that the "Redwood City" sign portion might not be visible over parked cars. Commissioner Morgan restated her feelings that the words IIClimate Best By Government Testll should be included on the sign. Commissioner Morgan moved to recommend to Council that the land- scaped area at Claremont and El Camino Real be completely IIred- zoned" to prohibit parking on all sides of the site, seconded by Commissioner Thompson, and passed, Commissioner Coffis being noted absent. 5 - Letter dated Oct. 7,. from City Manager urging Commission to help make Government Affairs Program (GAP) a success, and en- closing xerox copies of "Report to Council" dated Aug. 11 and 25, and Sept, 12, 1969, which outlined and suggested procedures and aims of the program. Secretary noted that this information was in answer to her letter of Oct. 3, requesting information on GA'P and that this information had not previously been received by the Commission. 6 - Letter dated Oct. 7, from City Manager, in response to Sec- retary.s letter re Commission action on Oct. 1 on IITarget Area Facilitiesll¡ IfBrmzee Propertyll¡ IIProposed Outfall Sewer - Shoresll; and IINeighborhood Park #1 - Shores". Mr. Ullrich enclòs"ed copy of letter to Ribera & Sue which authorized them to work with Mr. Balzarini and 'the Commission in the selection of playgtoand equipment. 7 - Speed letter from City Manager, dated Oct. 13, to Park Supt. re HETCH HETCHY TURFED AREAS estimate of $5,068 (McAvoy and Madrone Sts.), rec.d. by Secty. on 10-15-69. See Agenda ~. 8 - Receipt from CPRS for dues payment to July 31, 1970. 9 ~ Notice of Dues (second notice) from National Recreation & Park Assn. - $50, (dues include monthly magazine). Secretary suggested that at least chairman and/or secretary receive magazine ($5 per year) if lack of funds would prohibit entire Commmssion from receiving it. Mr. Balzarini noted that Dues Notice had been sent to auditor, but he had no other information on the matter. 10 - Revised site plan - addition to LeBlanc Mini Park (Brizee Property).
