<br />2 <br /> <br />Camino Real as presented to the Commission, seconded by Commiss- <br />ioner Thompson, and passed on the following vote: YES - Comm- <br />issioners Knecht, Morgan, Stuart and Thompson¡ NO - Commissioner <br />Schenck¡ ABSTAINING - Commissioner Whitmore; and ABSENT - Comm- <br />issioner Coffis. <br /> <br />Commissioner Schenck indicated his NO vote was because he felt <br />ihe sign design was not too innovative or attractive. Commiss- <br />ioner Whitmore ABSTAINED as he felt design was not the most <br />attractive set of telephone poles and that the "Redwood City" <br />sign portion might not be visible over parked cars. Commissioner <br />Morgan restated her feelings that the words IIClimate Best By <br />Government Testll should be included on the sign. <br /> <br />Commissioner Morgan moved to recommend to Council that the land- <br />scaped area at Claremont and El Camino Real be completely IIred- <br />zoned" to prohibit parking on all sides of the site, seconded <br />by Commissioner Thompson, and passed, Commissioner Coffis being <br />noted absent. <br /> <br />5 - Letter dated Oct. 7,. from City Manager urging Commission to <br />help make Government Affairs Program (GAP) a success, and en- <br />closing xerox copies of "Report to Council" dated Aug. 11 and 25, <br />and Sept, 12, 1969, which outlined and suggested procedures and <br />aims of the program. Secretary noted that this information was <br />in answer to her letter of Oct. 3, requesting information on GA'P <br />and that this information had not previously been received by <br />the Commission. <br /> <br />6 - Letter dated Oct. 7, from City Manager, in response to Sec- <br />retary.s letter re Commission action on Oct. 1 on IITarget Area <br />Facilitiesll¡ IfBrmzee Propertyll¡ IIProposed Outfall Sewer - Shoresll; <br />and IINeighborhood Park #1 - Shores". Mr. Ullrich enclòs"ed copy <br />of letter to Ribera & Sue which authorized them to work with Mr. <br />Balzarini and 'the Commission in the selection of playgtoand <br />equipment. <br />7 - Speed letter from City Manager, dated Oct. 13, to Park Supt. <br />re HETCH HETCHY TURFED AREAS estimate of $5,068 (McAvoy and Madrone <br />Sts.), rec.d. by Secty. on 10-15-69. See Agenda ~. <br />8 - Receipt from CPRS for dues payment to July 31, 1970. <br />9 ~ Notice of Dues (second notice) from National Recreation & <br />Park Assn. - $50, (dues include monthly magazine). Secretary <br />suggested that at least chairman and/or secretary receive magazine <br />($5 per year) if lack of funds would prohibit entire Commmssion <br />from receiving it. Mr. Balzarini noted that Dues Notice had been <br />sent to auditor, but he had no other information on the matter. <br />10 - Revised site plan - addition to LeBlanc Mini Park (Brizee <br />Property).
