General. Th~ Contractor shall not commence any work until <br />he obtains, at his own expense, all req~ired insurance. Such insurance shall have the <br /> <br />approval of the City as to limit, form and amount. The Contractor shall not permit any <br /> <br />subcontractor to commence work on this project until the same insurance requirements <br /> <br />have been complied with by such subcqntractor. <br /> <br />Companies writing insurance for¡ the Contractor shall be licensed to do business <br />in the State of California or be permitt~d to do business under the Surplus Line Law of <br /> <br />the State of California. <br /> <br />Contractor shall take out, pay f~r, and maintain throughout the duration of this <br />Contract the following insurance cover~ge: <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />Commercial and 1-utomobile Liability Insurance. This insurance <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />shall protect the Contractor from clainj1s for bodily injury and property damage which <br /> <br />may arise because of the nature of the work or from operations under this Contract. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Type of Coverage.! This policy of insurance shall name the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City, its Council, c<i>mmissions, boards, officers, employees, and <br /> <br />agents as additional insureds. this policy shall provide coverage to each of the <br /> <br />said insureds with respect to sa~d work.
