<br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />AGREEMENT <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />FIRSTSTOP - SMALL BUSINESS LEGAL ASSISTANCE <br /> <br />(LEGAL AID SOCIETY OF SAN MATEO COUNTY) <br /> <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this ~~~ day of <br /> <br /> <br />t\\d..J6<Y\ ~ , 1999, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a <br /> <br />municipal corporation of the State of California, (City), and LEGAL AID SOCIETY <br /> <br />OF SAN MATEO COUNTY, a California nonprofit corporation (Contractor); <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Contractor conducts a technical assistance and legal advice <br /> <br />program to assist low income residents of Redwood City, to establish their own business <br /> <br />(the Program); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Contractor has requested financial assistance in order to conduct <br /> <br />the Program for residents of City during the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1999, and <br /> <br />ending June 30, 2000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City has reviewed said request and desires to allocate to Contractor <br /> <br />the sum of Eleven Thousand, Five Hundred and no/lOO Dollars ($11,500.00) from its <br /> <br />Community Development Block Grant funds for the Program; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. Financial Assistance. City shall allocate to Contractor the sum of Eleven <br /> <br />Thousand, Five Hundred and no/lOO Dollars ($11,500.00) for exclusive use by <br /> <br />Contractor during the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1999, and ending June 30, 2000, <br /> <br />solely for the purposes described in paragraph 2. <br /> <br />10/15/99 <br />
