Cities meeting - feeling that some of their programs <br />were duplications of things we had already seen. <br />C~~~~ ~~~~Q~~ said he felt it was of great value in some areas, <br />but that it was sort of a depressing meeting -all cities had the same <br />problems - lots of things to do but no money or help from the federal <br />government; that it was encouraging to find out that R.C. was pretty <br />progressive i.e. our mini parks start, our-involvement with G.A.P. <br />students, our involvement with community people in our"Master Plan for <br />Community Park, etc. - <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER KNECHT moved to recommend that all signs, rubbish con- <br /> <br />A ~ & .b.- ---~ --. Commissioners suggested the idea not <br />be limited just to tanks but to such things 'as trains, airplanes, etc..~ <br />Commissioner Schenck told of several projects by special groups -all <br />paid for by them -which included such things as a chinese junk, etc. <br />Chairman Whitmore asked Terri to follow through on her suggestion by <br />contacting the S.P. Company, National Guard, etc. <br /> <br />Chairman Whitmore will follow through on the idea of identification <br />. cards for G.A.P. students which would identify them with the Park <br />and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />]l~~~~AP}ß~~ said that with cooperation from the park and street <br />departments and his own department's maintenance~men that the gol~ <br />cages located on the Thorn property should be ready in a couple of <br />weeks. Macadam has been placed on a slope so that balls will return <br />to the driving platforms; that netting will be used on cages and when <br />that wears out it can hopefully be replaced with fire hose pieces7 <br />said that bocce ball courts are very successful and getting lots of <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
